What causes mould?
Visible mould should be considered alongside the moisture conditions that allow it to develop. PRS assesses the affected area, accessible materials and likely moisture source before recommending suitable controls, removal, cleaning or further investigation.
How PRS approaches mould
The scope is based on the property conditions and evidence available, not the colour or appearance of mould alone. Sampling or laboratory testing is used where it will answer a defined question or support verification. The agreed scope sets out containment, removal, cleaning, records and completion checks where required.
